Caring for Your MOSAIC

At MOSAIC, we work with a curated selection of specialised fabrics and distinctive textures, each chosen to enhance the uniqueness and craftsmanship of our garments. As different fabrics and embellishments require specific care, we recommend following the individual garment care label for the most appropriate washing, drying and storage instructions.

Proper garment care helps preserve fabric quality, colour, texture and detailing, ensuring your MOSAIC pieces retain their beauty and craftsmanship while extending their longevity.

General Care Guidance

Embellishments

MOSAIC is renowned for its distinctive artisanal embellishments and intricate surface detailing, featuring hand-applied crystals, rhinestones, bugle beads, thread work, metal threads and speciality embroidery.

With regular wear, delicate embellishments such as crystals and beads may naturally loosen or detach.
To help preserve the beauty of your MOSAIC piece, additional crystals and embellishments are provided with selected garments for future care and maintenance.
We recommend handling these garments with care and avoiding contact with jewellery, rough or sharp surfaces that may catch or pull the delicate detailing.
Proper care will help maintain the beauty, craftsmanship and finish of your MOSAIC garment for years to come.

Dry Cleaning

Given the delicate nature of some MOSAIC garments, we recommend professional dry cleaning by a specialist experienced in handling silk and delicate embellishments.

This helps preserve the fabric's structure, finish and intricate detailing.
We recommend our latte crepe fabric, both plains and embellished to be dry-cleaned, as it is more susceptible to losing its shape with unsuitable cleaning methods.
For embellished garments, please inform your dry cleaner of any beading, embroidery, crystals or specialty trims so that the appropriate care process can be followed.

Alterations

To preserve the fit, integrity and craftsmanship of your MOSAIC garment, we recommend contacting us or choosing a trusted tailor experienced in garment alterations, delicate and embellished fabrics.

When alterations are required, we encourage retaining any excess fabric removed from the garment.
This can be thoughtfully repurposed into a coordinating belt, scarf or other bespoke accessory, allowing you to extend the life and versatility of your MOSAIC piece.

Fabric-Specific Care

Latte Crepe

A delicate fabric that requires gentle handling to preserve its drape, texture and shape.

Recommended to dry clean only, avoiding bleach or use of any harsh chemical treatments.
Avoid soaking, wringing or twisting and do not tumble dry.
If ironing is required, use a low-temperature setting and place a protective cloth between the iron and the fabric.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
For embellished garments, take extra care to avoid snagging or pulling the delicate surface detailing.
Professional dry cleaning is recommended to maintain the garment's original finish, shape and longevity.

Silk-Cotton Chanderi

A delicate, lightweight fabric with a fine, airy weave. Gentle care is essential to preserve its natural sheen, texture, drape and colour.

Recommended to dry clean only, avoiding bleach or use of any harsh chemical treatments.
Avoid soaking, wringing or twisting and do not tumble dry.
If ironing is required, use a low-temperature setting and iron on the reverse side with a protective cloth.
Keep away from sharp jewellery and rough surfaces to prevent snagging.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Professional dry cleaning is recommended for embellished or intricately detailed garments.

Luxurious, lightweight and naturally breathable, silk offers an effortless drape and a soft, refined feel against the skin. From silk satin, silk crepe and georgette to chiffon, each fabric is carefully selected and meticulously crafted to bring our distinctive prints and designs to life. To preserve the fabric's natural lustre, colour and drape, we recommend storing silk garments in a cool, dry place, away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Avoid soaking and machine washing, and always follow the specific care instructions provided on the garment label. With considered care, your MOSAIC silk piece can retain its beauty, character and craftsmanship for years to come.

Linen

A naturally breathable, lightweight fibre that develops a softer character with wear.

Steam gently to relax creases or, for a smoother finish, lightly iron while the fabric is slightly damp using a medium-heat setting. Avoid excessive heat, which may affect the natural fibres.
For storage, fold linen garments neatly rather than hanging them to help maintain their shape.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from excess moisture.
We recommend avoiding fabric softeners, as they may coat or weaken the natural linen fibres over time.

Cotton

Soft, lightweight and naturally breathable, cotton is a versatile natural fibre valued for its comfort, durability and ease of care. At MOSAIC, we work with a curated range of cotton fabrications, including 100% organic cotton certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

To preserve the quality, colour and finish of your cotton garment, please follow care instructions on the garment label.
Handle gently and avoid harsh treatments that may affect the fabric, embroidery or delicate embellishments.
For wrinkle removal, gentle steaming is recommended.
Alternatively, iron the garment inside out on a low-heat setting, when embroidery or embellishments are present.

Bemberg Crepe & Satin

Bemberg crepe is a soft, fluid and steady fabric valued for its elegant drape and luxurious feel.

To preserve its colour, texture, drape and finish, dry clean is recommended for embellished or detailed styles.
For plain printed garments, preferably gentle hand washing in cold water and a mild, colour-safe detergent may be suitable or alternately a machine cold wash.
Do not soak, bleach, wring or twist the garment.
Avoid harsh detergents and fabric softeners.
Do not tumble dry. Gently reshape and allow to air dry away from direct sunlight.
For ironing, recommended is to use a low-temperature setting.
Store in a cool place, away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
